The people behind Villa Verte

What is the name of the property: Villa Verte
Please introduce the owner:
The property is owned by George Camille who is Seychelles' leading contemporary artist. His family lived on La Digue and he grew up there, helping out in the family bakery in La Passe. He then won scholarships to study in the U.K.
How would you describe the property?
The style of the property is traditional Creole and also features several examples of George's artwork. The villa is spacious and breezy and the veranda is deep, shady and elevated, overlooking the sea and the surrounding islands.
Villa Verte is located in the quieter side of La Digue but only a short bike ride away to the hustle and bustle of the port area. The villa sits amongst nature and many magnificient granite rocks.
What is the story behind the property?
George Camille purchased the property where Villa Verte is located in 2000 and recreating the traditional style of Creole houses, constructed the villa to take full advantage of the magnificient sea views.
What makes the property special?
The sea views and the unspoilt environment.
What does a perfect day look like staying at the property and in this location?
Breakfast on the veranda with a few local birds passing by for crumbs we leave on the ledge. Visit to the beach over the road for a dip and maybe some beach combing. Read a book in the afternoon and then a sunset stroll to nearby Jules restaurant for a catch of the day supper. Bike rides to other areas of the island.
What should guests experience while staying?
Take a walk on the wild side, along the coast to the end of the road. See the magnificient granite bolders sculpted by the sea. Take a boat trip and snorkel around the nearby islands. Visit Chez Jules restaurant. Browse the gallery and look at the artwork of the owner George Camille.
